Syria crisis: Chlorine attacks and airstrikes displace many in Idlib

The humanitarian crisis in Syria is worsening following reports of suspected chlorine attacks in the city of Idlib this week.

Wynn Flaten, Director of World Vision's Syria Response, said: “Families forced from their homes in north-east Syria continue to pour into Idlib, putting further strain on an already fractured city. Now, with devastating news of a suspected chlorine attack, airstrikes on hospitals and car bombs in the north of the city, children continue to bear the burden of violence in which they played no part.

“We’re concerned that the on-going fighting has also forced schools to shut, leaving children with yet more obstacles to overcome.

“Amid this fighting and violence, World Vision continues its operation on the ground in Idlib supporting hospitals and providing life-saving services like clean water supplies for those who need it the most.”
