Objectives

The project focuses on the far western region of Nepal, and will introduce new farming technologies, business skills, and nutrition and hygiene awareness that will contribute to improved livelihoods for vulnerable households, land preservation and the improved nutritional status of children. The livelihoods component will be complemented by training in good nutrition and proper food hygiene to specifically help malnourished children and will therefore target the care givers of children so that they adapt healthier practices when caring for malnourished children.

The activities will contribute towards the Milennium Development Goals: 1- Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger; 4- Reduce child mortality; and 7- Ensure environmental sustainability
