Phase 2 of the response continues to save lives, alleviate suffering and maintain human dignity in earthquake-affected areas of Nepal through Shelter, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and Health interventions in affected communities of Gorkha, Sindhupalchowk, Sindhuli, Lamjung and the Kathmandu Valley. Such activities include providing 1,480 households with access to primary health care facilities and nutritional support services. 2,000 children affected by the earthquake will have improved and equitable access to quality basic education in a protection learning environment; and 880 affected households will have improved access to adequate shelter material and improved capacity in constructing safe transitional shelter solutions.
