Watch Simon's Story

Life could have been very different for twin brothers Simon and Isaac, 17, who fled from the conflict in South Sudan to avoid becoming child soldiers.

When their father was beaten in South Sudan two years ago, Simon and his twin brother Isaac, 17, were told to run. They fled and hid in a vehicle that drove through a place with lots of armed men.

“They scared us a lot,” says Isaac. The boys left so much in South Sudan - their family, friends and their home. But, if they hadn’t left, they’d have been forced to become child soldiers like many other boys their age.

Thanks to you, they now go to a child friendly space in a refugee camp in Uganda, where they've been inspired to pursue their passions - Isaac loves playing football and Simon loves dancing and dreams of becoming a professional dancer.

Watch how you’ve given them hope for their future again:

My hope here in Uganda is to become an artist or a dancer… When dancing, you are bringing unity together with the people here.

- Simon, 17

It's so wonderful watching the joy on Simon and Isaac's faces as they do something as simple as dancing. They've been through experiences that most of us can't begin to imagine, and yet thanks to you, they're able to enjoy their youth.

Thank you for all you do for young people like Simon and Isaac.
