Sponsor a child in Honduras
and change their life for good
A child living in Honduras has no guarantee of a full childhood, as child poverty and gang violence loom.
But for just 85p a day your child sponsorship could help a child to stand up for his rights, to protect himself, to get a good education. To change the future for himself - and his whole community.
Together with our supporters we’ve already impacted the lives of over 200 million vulnerable children by tackling the root causes of poverty.*

How Sponsorship Helps
How sponsorship works
When you sponsor a child for £26 a month it brings much needed change to one child… and many more. The benefits you help provide, extend to your child's family, their community and other children in need. This is because we partner, plan and work alongside local community members to help build healthy, sustainable communities for vulnerable children in the world’s hardest places.
What will your donation actually change?
Because of our community-focused solutions, for every child you help, four more children benefit, too. Depending on the priority needs in your child’s community, as a sponsor you will be improving lives by providing:
Create lasting change
When you sponsor a child, you transform their life by helping to create lasting changes for their entire community
We work with whole communities to understand what they need.
We then work together to plan and deliver the changes that will make life better for them and their children - now and always.
Why choose World Vision?

Why sponsor a child in Honduras?
Honduras is the second largest country in Central America and shares borders with Nicaragua, El Salvador and Guatemala.
Sadly, it’s one of the poorest Latin American countries, with nearly a third of people living below the poverty line. Health, poverty and food shortages are major concerns as well as crime and violence fuelled by the drug trade.
Child sponsorship in Honduras: the facts
• Honduras sees prolonged periods of drought and food insecurity, especially in rural areas.
• School drop-out levels are high - while teachers lack support and accountability.
• Childhoods are punctuated by child labour and violence.
World Vision has been working with people in Honduras since 1974.
Since then we’ve provided emergency support in the aftermath of hurricanes, trained farmers in new, sustainable agricultural techniques, provided nutrition training and upheld children’s rights.

Together we’ve impacted the lives of over 200 million vulnerable children by tackling the root causes of poverty.*
*Based on data over a five-year period (2012-2016) reflecting direct beneficiaries for both development and humanitarian emergency programmes. This is combined with the number of children where World Vision has contributed to multiple policies addressing causes of vulnerability for children with evidence of at least one of them being implemented. Eliminating for any potential overlap the total number of children reached through World Vision’s three lines of ministry (development, humanitarian and advocacy) is 200 million. The methodology World Vision uses to carry out this calculation undergoes an external audit in order to refine and strengthen how we count our contribution across all areas of our work.
