Meet Patch Promotion: Terms and Conditions

The following terms and conditions (“Terms”) are for the World Vision Meet Patch promotion (the “Promotion”). The Promotion gives entrants a chance to win a Patch & Storyteller visit to their church or venue in the UK, that is holding the Pumpkin Heroes event.

By entering into the Promotion you agree to be bound by these Terms. The Promotion is being run World Vision UK, Opal Drive, Fox Milne, Milton Keynes MK15 0ZR (the “Promoter”).

1. Eligibility and Taking Part in the Promotion: In order to be eligible to participate in the Promotion, you must be a resident of the UK.

2. Entry Period: Return your completed application coupon 00:01 on Thursday 14 September 2017 until 23:59 on Friday 13 October 2017 (the “Entry Period”)

3. Free Entry Route: Persons resident in UK can enter, during the Entry Period, by sending their name, postal address, phone number and email address to Meet Patch, World Vision UK, Opal Drive, Fox Milne, Milton Keynes. MK15 0ZR.

4. Publicity: By entering, Winners agree and will cooperate in allowing the Promoter to film, use photos and names and event locations for advertising and publicity purposes in connection with this Promotion. If the winner elects to remain anonymous, the Promoter reserves the right to select another winner through the random draw process.

5. Opening Date: 00:01 on Thursday 14 September 2017.

6. Closing date: All entries must be received by 23:59 on Friday 13 October 2017.

7. Prize Draw: Following successful entry in accordance with the Terms, you will be automatically entered into a random prize draw (the “Promotional Draw”). The Promotional Draw will be a random draw supervised by an independent observer and will take place shortly after the Entry Period closes. The winner of the Promotional Draw will be the first entry selected at random. In addition, three names will be drawn to allow for a reserve winner, should the Promoter be unable to contact the first winner selected and/or the first winner does not comply with the Terms.

8. Prizes: There is one prize of one visit only to a UK venue hosting a Pumpkin Heroes event to be won in the Promotional Draw. The visit will include attendance of Natasha Little as Storyteller to read Patch the Pumpkin storybook alongside Patch the Pumpkin mascot to those present.

9. Winner(s): If you are the winner, a representative of the Promoter will contact the winner within 7 days of the Promotional Draw, via the contact telephone number provided upon entry, to confirm their win. The Promoter may also contact the winner by email as provided upon entry. If a winner cannot be contacted within 10 days of initial contact, the Promoter reserves the right to offer the prize to a reserve winner drawn sequentially from the random draw.

10. Registrations and entries not complying with these Terms will not be valid.

General

11. All personal data provided to the Promoter, during entry or otherwise in relation to the Promotion, will be processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 (the “DPA”). Subject to your consent (opted in or out of at the time of entry), the Promoter will protect your data in line with the Promoter’s Data Protection Policy and will not sell it to anyone. 12. The name of the winner will be found on www.pumpkinheroes.com one week after the winner has been contacted and will be available for 2 weeks after the Promotional Draw has taken place.

13. The Promoter’s decisions will be final and no correspondence will be entered into. The Promoter reserves the right in their reasonable discretion: (a) to disqualify any claimant, competitor or nominee whose conduct is contrary to the spirit of the rules or the intention of the Promotion and to declare as void any or all of their claims or entries based on such conduct; (b) to add to or to waive any rules on reasonable notice; and/or (d) to cancel the Promotion or any part of it at any stage in the event of circumstances beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control.

14. The Promoter does not accept any liability or responsibility of any nature for any action or event which prevents a person from entering into the Promotion, nor in relation to the taking of any prize or the consequences of doing so, to the extent permitted by law. Further, the Promoter shall not take responsibility for and will not be liable for: (a) any failure to comply with their obligations, (b) any postponement or cancellation of the Promotion, (c) any changes to a prize or the way in which a prize can be used; and, (d) any act or default of any third party supplier where the failure is caused by something outside their reasonable control. Such circumstances shall include, but not be limited to, digital connectivity, fire, flood, strike, industrial dispute, war, hostilities, political unrest, riots, civil commotion, inevitable accidents, supervening legislation or any other circumstances amounting to force majeure.

15. The Promoter reserves the right at any time to cancel, modify or supersede the Promotion (including changing these Terms and altering prizes) if, in their sole discretion, the Promotion is not capable of being conducted as specified. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize in the event that circumstances beyond their control make this unavoidable.

16. To the fullest extent permitted by law (and subject to paragraph 17 below), the Promoter hereby excludes all warranties, representations, covenants and liabilities (whether express or implied) relating to this Promotion and/or prizes.

17. Nothing in these terms and conditions shall exclude the Promoter’s liability for: (a) death or personal injury as a result of its negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (c) any liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.

18. If any of the provisions of these Terms are held to be invalid or unenforceable in whole or in part that part shall be severed from the remainder of the provisions and the validity of the other provisions and remainder of the provision in question shall not be affected.

19. These Terms shall be governed by the laws of England and any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
