Objectives

This project was funded with UK aid from the UK government..

Myanmar's increasing exposure and vulnerability to climate extremes (ranked second globally), is due to low capacity to manage risks, limited access and understanding of climate information, and lack of resources and mechanisms to design and apply policy.

The project capitalises on the unique opportunity of Myanmar's rapid administrative, legislative, and economic transition. It contributes to the advancement of resilience programming across policy and institutions, building the resilience of 1.7 million people to tackle climate risks. Immediate concerted action is essential for ensuring development gains from Myanmar's transition are enabled and protected in the face of climate extremes and disasters.
